Here is a great article I found today. This is affecting my management servers.

Problem

The overall Entity Heath for one or more Management Servers displays Critical in the Operations Manager Console. Upon opening the Health Explorer against an affected Management Server, the Monitors affecting the overall Entity Health are either:
Health Service Handle Count Threshold
Or
Health Service Private Bytes Threshold
or both of the above threshold monitors.

I just confirmed with Microsoft support that there is a bug inside the Hotfix for KB 934441. (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934441) After you install the hotfix on the MOM server and then try to deploy it out to the MOM agents using Pending Actions inside the Administrator console the install fails. Microsoft is working on a fix and should have it out within a month. In the meantime there are 2 workarounds.

1.) Manually install the update on each of the agents.

2.) Uninstall and then re-install all of your agents.

1.) In the console, under Authoring, Management Pack Objects, Rules, create a new rule

2.) Choose to create a Alert Generating Rules/Event Based/Generic Text Log (Alert), click next

3.) Input a rule name and choose rule target, click next

4.) Input a directory, for example C:\, input a pattern, for example logfile.log, click next

5.) Input the following expression,
Parameter Name = Params/Param[1]
Operator = Matches wildcard
Value = warning
click next

6.) Configure a suitable alert and then click create

Please note that this rule is case sensitive, so it will make difference between WARNING and warning.

HP has released Proliant Management Pack for Opsmgr 2007!

HP released an updated version of the Management Pack for Proliant servers. This new Management pack is build on Microsoft’s System Definition Model (SDM).
